Claimed: Ryszard Macht VHL Team Destination Rankings [1/2]

It looked likely that Verner Reinholdt might of been the Devise player agencies last hope at the Hall of Fame.  I've admitted on several occasions that if he were to create another player that it would likely be more welfare than anything else. Enter a sea of changes in the last off-season, from internal staff to the creation of a very nice new rule. That is of course the new payout structure as it relates to Media Spots. This rule has essentially allowed me to be much more rejuvenated, even in the media spot landscape. For those unfamiliar, you can now post up to four weeks of a MS in advance, in one single media spot. All you need to do is increase the word count in your media spots. For me, the ability to pop in and write a cool quick 2000+ words and then not have to worry about earning a point task for a month, is helpful. I tend to get busy in spurts, and a lot of my more isolated free time allows me to work on Blue Team stuff, which is a big reason I wanted the role. But trying to get invested in writing something interesting in those spurts was hard, especially trying every single week.

Now I can carve out a chunk of time, get to typing and be good to go for a month. As subtle as this change is, I do think in the long run it may prove to be one of our better ones. With that said, the result of my renewed interest is Ryszard Macht, my sort of second, well let's be honest my first real crack at building a defender. Logan Laich switched from winger to D to finalize his career, and Humbert my last D switched to forward. So I've never really given it an interest chance. Now I'm going to. So here is a list of Team Destination Rankings, each team will get a star rating out of five stars in specific categories ranging from how well the player would fit with the team, to the fit with the player agency, as well as the fit with the player himself. This will culminate with an overall star rating, as well as as some final analysis on the team in question. Here we go. (Bud Light, aka shitty beer)

Ryszard Macht Player Profile

Position: Defense

Height: 6'4

Weight: 215lb

Style: Two-way Defender

Born: Cologne, Germany

Traits: Loyalty, Extreme Patriotism, Aggressive, Hard Working

Scout Analysis: Ryszard Macht is the stereotypical definition of the diamond in the rough. This German born hard working big rig on the back end possesses a wicked slap shot, and the offensive vision to quarterback the power play. With the right guidance he could be a force offensively. But Cologne native also doesn't lack when it comes to defensive play. He's shown flashes of wisdom beyond his age on several key defensive plays. His biggest downside is that he gets engaged in the game, which can lead to both great physical play as well as undisciplined and over aggressive hotheadedness.

:cal: Calgary Wranglers :cal:

Team Fit: ***

Agency Fit: **

Player Fit: **

Overall Rating: **1/2

Analysis: While Ryszard Macht certainly will play seasons for any team that drafts him, the fit in Calgary doesn't look to be there on the surface. In regards to team needs, the team already has 3 very capable defenders in Felix Savard, Luca Volkov and Elijah Dotran. While Dotran is nearing retirement, the pairing of Savard and Volkov look to be the solidified top D unit for Calgary for seasons to come. Macht would likely anchor the second D unit. In regards to player agency, the Devise player agency seemed to have an issue trusting the process the last time a player of his was on Calgary. That lead eventually to the wishes of Verner, to play for a team that the Devise player agency hadn't, to be traded to Toronto. Again it's not a fit that is impossible, but it doesn't seem very likely. Lastly we have the player fit which for Ryszard is likely to be the same across all American teams. He'll go there, but this young German D has made it be known, he wants to play in Europe if at all possible. Ultimately, the Calgary Wranglers are a long shot option, however if Ryszard does fall in the draft much like Verner, he could wind up in a situation where he plays for the Calgary Wranglers. For how long though would be the the real question.

:nya: New York Americans :nya:

Team Fit: ****

Agency Fit: ****

Player Fit: **

Overall Rating: ***1/2

Analysis: The New York Americans might have the best chance at keeping Macht around long term of any of the American teams. Macht would fit right in with the team needs, as he'd join a young defensive core with Casey Jones and Colton Rayne. Age wise Macht would fit right in with a team just trying to begin it's path out of rebuild. The Devise player agency has a storied history with the New York Americans. Every single one of Devises players with the exception of Verner Reinholdt have played in New York. Devise has GM'd New York to Championships on 3 occasions, including a back to back most recently in 52/53 before STZ stepped in. The player fit is still low, as Macht again has made it known that Europe is his top priority. That said, it's still a high overall rating as STZ, the legacy and the fit with the player could all help convince Macht that New York is a strong place to spend a good chunk of time of your career in.  If drafted, watch for Macht to spend at least 4 seasons there.

:que: Quebec City Meute :que:

Team Fit: **

Agency Fit: ***

Player Fit: **

Overall Rating: **1/2

Analysis: Quebec falls short on the stick mostly due to where the team is at. The defending Continental Cup Champions bolster a roster with 4 defenders, none of which are on the brink of retirement. This is likely a team that competes for a few more seasons before rebuilding, so both age and position wise it seems Macht would not be a great fit. Player agency wise Devise has always had good relations with both Quebec and general manager Frank Chadwick. Devise's previously player Skylar Rift was goalie on the team during it's first Cup in Season 32, and has always had a soft spot for both expansion teams.  However much like the rest of the teams in NA, Quebec falls short in regards to player fit as Europe is the ideal destination for Ryszard. Ultimately it leaves Quebec in a tough spot. If Frank was able to draft him and make him apart of a rebuild or a retool, Macht may stay with the team. But with that team need filled, and Macht expressing interest in Europe it doesn't seem like a perfect match.

:sea: Seattle Bears :sea:

Team Fit: *

Agency Fit: ***

Player Fit: **

Overall Rating: **

Analysis: Another team where the current structured version of it likely hurts the fit. Seattle has five defenders currently on roster, and after a healthy off-season is looking to plow out of rebuild and begin competing. None of the 5 players in question are set to retire next season, and even then they would only lose Robert Jelen the season after. Agency wise, the Devise player agency has softened up on the Seattle Bears over the seasons. Mostly due to the fact that Devise players have only spent one season in Seattle in entirety. That happened in Rauno Pajari's final season when he was traded from New York to Seattle for a Cup run all the way back in Season 30. Noah Leferve was the GM of the Bears at that time. The Europe factor remains in play for Macht, and because of the team needs situation it seems unlikely Macht would end up playing in Seattle.

:tor: Toronto Legion :tor:

Team Fit: ***

Agency Fit: ***

Player Fit: ***

Overall Rating: ***

Analysis: Macht would fit in with Toronto just about as much as he would Calgary, at least in terms of team needs. Toronto is out of rebuild and one of three teams in the NA looking to take the next step. They currently have three defenders, two of which will be locked up long time and solidify a top D pairing for the club. Macht would aide a weak depth chart there. Agency wise, Devise currently has a player on Toronto, and while he normally wouldn't like to double up players  on the same team, if it were to happen, all the better for Toronto. Which means all the better for Devise too. Player fit, despite Macht still preferring European options, of all the teams in NA, Macht would consider Toronto the highest on his personal list. This is due to the close relationship Macht has with the ageless Legion star Verner Reinholdt, who has acted as a mentor to Macht during much of his early development.

:col: Cologne Express :col:

Team Fit: *****

Agency Fit: *****

Player Fit: *****

Overall Rating: *****

Analysis: This shouldn't come as a shocker to anybody. The Cologne Express are a team trying to build a core of players to start competing in the next several seasons. They had a strong draft, picking up Chase Keller at 1, getting the underrated goalie Shawn Brodeur an still having GM player Kriztof Mueller in the wings. The team has no legitimate D prospects that are likely to pan out currently, and defense is their biggest hole. The age and position of Macht is exactly what this team is looking for. Agency wise, well that fit is pretty blatant. The Devise player agency also had a hand in the first and only ever cup win of the Cologne Express franchise, as he was the GM of the team at the time when they won. Furthermore, Devise has a close relationship with current Cologne GM Advantage. The player fit gives Macht exactly what he wants. Macht doesn't just long to play in Europe, he's a loyal hometown boy who if he had his choice, he'd play for his hometown Cologne Express. Macht grew up going to Express games, as the Franchise has been around for decades now. If the Cologne Express call his name at the draft podium, it'll literally be a dream come true for Macht and his entire family.

:dav: HC Davos Dynamo :dav:

Team Fit: ****

Agency Fit: ****

Player Fit: ****

Overall Rating: ****

Analysis: As a team who just had a firesale, the Davos Dynamo would fit perfect for Ryszard Macht. The team does have one young up and coming defender already in Ko Kane, but Macht would be able to pair nicely with Kane as he develops, and the addition the German born defender would allow Davos to target the other areas of the roster during their rebuild. Agency wise, Devise has always respected and like Tyler the new Davos Dynamo GM. On top of that, Devise has a rule that he'll always commit to trying to play for franchises he has never played with before. Davos is one of the few teams remaining that haven't had a Devise player. Player fit wise, while Macht would love to play for Cologne of all else, playing in Europe in general is high on his list of priorities. And Macht himself has always enjoyed Switzerland whenever he's visited.

:hel: Helsinki Titans :hel:

Team Fit: ***

Agency Fit: ****

Player Fit: ***

Overall Rating: ***1/2

Analysis: The ever competitive Helsinki Titans would make an interesting landing point for Ryszard Macht. While the Titans are more in a re-tool with still a very competitive roster, Macht could still represent an option as the team beginning to get a bit weaker in the D ranks as the seasons go on. A young late round pick replacement could wind up being a perfect target for them. Agency wise, as mentioned previously the Devise agency would love to play for any team that they have not. Helsinki is the second of the three teams that fall under that category. Furthermore, the Devise agency has always enjoyed the GM work of Mitch Higgins, and just in general the Helsinki Titans for being one of the more dominant franchise. It's tough not to respect that. Player fit wise, Macht would get his wish of staying in Europe. While Macht does enjoy Finland, it isn't in his top 3 European destinations, but he'd still love to play for the team.

:rig: Riga Reign :rig:

Team Fit: ***

Agency Fit: ***

Player Fit: ***

Overall Rating: ***

Analysis: The ever intriguing Riga Reign present an interesting option for the young German defender. Team wise, the Reign are still competing after coming out of the gates and winning the Victory Cup last season. That said, the team is still a little barren on D, so who knows, a young defender could very much be on the teams primary radar. Agency wise, Devise has played for Riga once and while he isn't exactly keen on going back, the hard work and dedication of general manager Benjamin Zeptenberg isn't easy to ignore. Player fit wise, Riga doesn't fall into the top 3 of Machts European list, that said Ryszard has no issues playing in Latvia, and has been to many a music festival in the Country. It would still feel close enough to home for him.

:sto: Stockholm Vikings :sto:

Team Fit: ****

Agency Fit: *****

Player Fit: ****

Overall Rating: ****1/2

Analysis: The Stockholm Vikings are probably the second best ideal destination in general for everything the player and agency is looking for in regards to top destinations. Team fit, the team is rebuilding, and beginning to look at young pieces to help fill in their core. While they do already have a solid number one D in Boner, pairing him with Macht would give Stockholm a strong blue line foundation for seasons to come. Agency wise there is a big boost here. Devise has never played for Bushito before, and it's something he's open to doing. Otherwise Stockholm is a franchise that a Devise player has never played for, they have the best logo in the league according to Devise, and the best team name. Of all the teams Devise has never played for Stockholm ranks 1st on want to play for list. As for the player fit, Stockholm is second only to Cologne in terms of Machts overall interest. Macht vacations with his family in Sweden every summer. It's his "home away from home" and he'd love to be able to play for that country provided he can't play for his hometown.

Now that is a process to trust.

Why? I already play with Chris in Toronto. Also Kyle isn't going to make another player, and as you guys forget..Mr Shakedown Jericho's other joke of a player is already on Cologne. Besides Jericho isn't going to be active much here anyways, that is just a fact. :P

REVIEW:

I thought Macht has more TPE tbh. Idk, maybe you didn't claim some point though.

You might raise Quebec's raiting up, at least I think this is the last season for this team. Cologne getting 5 starts, not surprised tbh. Btw, Davos might compete following this season so I guess you'd be interested to be drafted by Tyler.
