Wrapping up another career

 

Free agency plans did not go as planned for Pietro Maximoff. Days before free agency would open the Stockholm Vikings decided to trade the rights to Pietro Maximoff to the Quebec City Meute to try to convince him to sign with them before free agency opens. While Maximoff his response at first was that he would still like to test free agency, this is not what happened. Due to computer problems at the Head Office of the agency where Maximoff was a client, they decided to take the deal as they were harder to reach during the free agency period. The deal that was presented by the Meute was good, it is an environment in which Maximoff should be able to win the conference and make it to the Continental Cup finals in which anything would be possible once reached. While the European Conference is a three-headed race, the North American Conference looks to have less competition, giving Maximoff a decent chance at getting his second cup from his career.

Due to the computer problems at the agency, Maximoff had no problems accepting the deal presented. Due to his minimum salary being 4.5 million, he just had enough to buy the ‘Old but not forgotten’ package out of the player store. A supersonic gel to apply to your body in order to decrease your skills a bit less. With this purchase and a lot of untrained training, Maximoff is trying to get in shape to push out one more great season in his career, his final goodbye to the Victory Hockey League.

 

 

After the acquisition of Maximoff the Quebec City Meute had to say goodbye to two other players, players that Maximoff considers as friends, Titan Kronos (with who he won a cup with Riga) and Max von Hohenzollern. But hockey is also business Maximoff realizes so he did not complain about this and reported with full confidence for the Quebec City training camp. 

 

Maximoff is the first player from the Green agency to not win a cup with every franchise he played for. He succeeded with Riga, but then lost his streak with being empty handed at both Seattle and Stockholm. It is a shame but it was bound to end sometime. LeBeau played eight seasons with Toronto and won just one, so it is never a guarantee to win as much cups as Thomas O’Malley did (he won with Cologne, Helsinki (twice) and New York. This is the first time a member of the Green agency will play for Quebec, which took almost three full careers (while Remy LeBeau had hoped to be a Meute when he signed up for the VHL). So finally a player of the agency has made it to Quebec City and hopefully this will become a big success for the franchise. Individually Maximoff doesn’t expect much, as players like Diana Maxwell are ahead of him attributewise, so team success is the thing he aims for. Let’s hope this will be the year of the Meute (or atleast the year of the stopped threepeat if the Meute wont win).

Review:

Maximoff had a great career. That season he tore the shit out of the VHL was something else, especially considering he didn't have crazy amounts of TPE either.

Good job with him.
