One Last Season - Free Agency Incoming

Pietro Maximoff is on the verge of his last season in the league and for the first time in his career he has decided to try out free agency. After winning a championship with the Riga Reign he has been traded to first the Seattle Bears and later to the Stockholm Vikings, but both of these periods he did not succeed in the ultimate goal of getting his second cup. During his last season with the Riga Reign he was one of the most succesfull players at the time in the league. During that year he won three individual awards, the Mike Szatkowski trophy for Most Points, the Kevin Brooks trophy for Most Goals and the Dustin Funk Trophy for Most Improved player.

But after that things got stale for Maximoff, while the Reign went on to rebuild, Maximoff wanted to see if he could win some more prices. The Seattle Bears looked promising at that time and when his GM asked him where he preferred to go he gave up two names, the Seattle Bears and the Stockholm Vikings. With the Bears mission failing he ended up with the Vikings after all. The Vikings just lost a game seven final versus the New York Americans and were the prime young team to take it all in the next season, only to be surprised by a rising Helsinki Titans team in the conference final. The Titans went on to win it all and repeated that storyline this year.

This brings Maximoff to the last season of his career, with just one year to go he has decided to enter free agency and not take the option he had on another contract year, mostly because he saw manager Chris Miller leave the franchise. One season to go for Maximoff and he still dreams of ending his career with a cup on his hands. Having no idea what teams have room or what their ideas for the roster will be, he is open for anything and looking to hear the pitches and plans team have for him.

While he is aging and not has much left to fight regression he still could be a valuable player for any competing team, the main question of course is if there are teams with any cap space to fit it in, or will he end up signing on a team with no chances to win it and just have one more season as a passenger in the league.

While Pietro Maximoff will likely not be reminded as one of the greats in the league, he had a very rewarding career so far and was a player that always gave it all. It will be a shame to see him leave the league, so lets hope he will get one more chance to shine, one more chance to be able to fight for that Continental Cup. Free agency can not start soon enough for Pietro as he is curious what options there will be.

Review

Maximoff had a very great career. I am glad we were able to get that cup together in Riga. Too bad our careers went their separate ways after Season 52 when we lit the league on fire. Too bad the 2 player rules prevent us from playing together in Davos. At least I think they do. Quill was drafted there so maybe you would be allowed. If you can I wonder if that Maximoff/Muller magic can spread to Maximoff/Gretzky. Good luck wherever you go.
