Müller Off to Hot Start

He’s not even halfway into his third VHL season, but Lukas Müller seems to be silencing any of his critics already.  The German-born center’s talent was never in doubt, but there had been multiple attitude concerns due to his fractured relationships with past teammates and multiple public outbursts.  But now, while Müller is still cocky, he’s shown more tact with the press since being drafted - possibly due to advising from his father, former VHL defenseman Klaus Müller.  But most importantly, he’s greatly outperformed many expectations that had been set for him.  In his first season, Lukas managed to score 73 points in 72 games - a fairly average total but very solid for a rookie, especially one on a fringe playoff team.  His sophomore season, however, was even more impressive.  For the first time in his career, Müller passed the 100-point mark, establishing himself as one of the league’s top forwards.  Meanwhile, the Meute managed to finish first in the North American Conference and make it to the Continental Cup Finals.

In Season 55, things only seem to be looking up so far.  Quebec is once again first in their conference and in contention for the Victory Cup.  To many, they’re the favorites to win it all.  Müller, meanwhile, has only managed to ramp up his production.  24 games into the season, he’s currently leading the league in assists by a decent margin and is the VHL’s points leader by just 1.  He’s currently on track to finish the season with over 90 assists and 120 points if he manages to keep up the pace.  Fellow center and Season 53 draft pick Franchise Cornerstone, meanwhile, is not far behind as the two look to take their rivalry to another level.
