The Colorado Avalanche have started the buyout process for the final year defenceman Francois Beauchemin's contract.

Since Beauchemin was on a +35 contract the Avalanche are still on the hook for his full $4.5 million cap hit next season, but will only owe him $3 million in salary payable over the next two seasons.

Also, lets remember that vegas gotta have 6 goalies

How do you figure? They only have to take 3 for the franchise and the 4th will be a free agent signing of a guy looking for a job.

fuck, right, it's 3 goaltenders

sry

I thought maybe you were thinking they needed 6 goalies to satisfy their NHL/AHL and ECHL depth chart but they won't have an ECHL team and their AHL team will be a shared one. So they take 3 NHL calibre goalies and the rest is for players with large contracts and low contracts.

Looks like the condition is whether Sergachev plays 40 games this season for TBL. If he does, no draft picks are exchanged.
In other words...the Lightning get MTL's 2nd round pick next year if they keep Sergachev in the OHL

I think its interesting risk, Drouin is like Galy, a talent who hasnt quite emerged consistently. And is right now more offense focused. Not a Julien type, be a waste if he ends up in the dog house

Two totally different styles of play though.

For sure they are, Drouin also has the higher upside, due to skill package. I think it can be great for both teams. But its a risk if he just stays in the dog house in Montreal its a hard price to pay.

He also has pressure being a frankophone star in a frankphone town. So when hes cold, which he gets on its going to be tough.

Well yeah but a goal scorer in the doghouse is different from a guy who is a net nuisance and goes hard into the corners. Gally is a pain to play against, Drouin is a pain to play against as well, but for different reasons.

The only comparison between the two is that Brendan and Jonathan are both young. That being said, if Drouin is one of their main sources of offence, even he won't be in the doghouse for long.

The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed defenceman Erik Gudbranson to a one-year, $3.5 million contract extension.

Alexander Radulov's contract demands are currently pricing him out of Montreal.

The Canadiens would still like to bring him back next season, but his price would have to drop considerably.

The Buffalo Sabres have hired Phil Housley as the teams new head coach.

According to Ray Ferraro, the Vegas Golden Knights plan to keep Marc-André Fleury next season rather than flip him.

chucky will be playing LW, therefore, a center is coming for chucky... right ?

Maybe. People keep bringing up Brodin who is a really underrated player. Would be amazing with Weber, but it also seems counter productive.

It's gonna be tough to figure out what to do if Radulov really wants 7-8 years. If Oshie hits fa I'd love bergevin to throw some money at him

Yeah I heard that as well. Not Hanifin specifically but because they have a very young D core they need to offload for a forward
