Nicodemus Raven currently play at VHLM team" Ottawa's Lynx ". His previsoly experience isn't very big, because he is young -  only 18 years old.  All childhood and tinny career he was playing at Latvia.  He started to interest in hockey at young ages.  However he had some seriously healthy problems and he get started to training only after they 15 birthday.  It's realy late for a man, who dream is to become a professional hockey player. But this guy didn't stop dreaming. With hard work, big patient and family help he become better and better. The biggest achievement what he is get is his short life is winning at Latvian hockey championship with team "Kurbads" .  It's short about this player biography, but lets underline the player strong and weak points.

 

Weaknesses

 

 

Overweight

 

Nicodemus is a bit overweight. He is 6'2 inches tall, but his weight, two months ago he joined VHLM, was 250 lbs. After two month hard work in gym he lose almost 30 lbs and now he is in normal form, but however he is not very fast, he start to breath away realy fast. He need to train his stamina and try to improve skating skill and acceleration.

 

No leadership skill and experience. 

 

Raven don't have any big experience, because this is first time when travel out of Latvia.  He was played only at Latvia, only in one team, and actually only at 4th line.  So this is something new and big for him.  He had become great player with his hard work and patient and almost all VHL manager are wanting from him big thing.  How to do that? How to fast get conclusin in hard situation, how to be a captain, teach and inspare other payers? It's one of the biggest Raven weaknes.

 

Mentality problems. 

 

The biggest problem for Raven is his brain. It's really bad for professional hockey player.  You always need to look forward and fighting for win to every game. It's hard for all, of you team loss and loose game after game....  But you need to train harder, thinking positive and on one special game you will win. You just need to remember that every game I new start.  But Nicodemus don't understand that. I can't say that he didn't try, but he just can't. In every loss and  bad situation he feels bad and think that is he fault

 

Strengths 

 

 

He never gives up. 

 

Yes, Raven is realy psychological player, but he never gives up.  He try and doe his best until he claim what they want.  Great example is Latvian championship in Hockey.  Team "Kurbads"  lost first 3 games of finals, but then team woke up and win 4  games in row and get champion title. First 3 games for Raven was horrible, but game after game he became better and better. Until in the last 7 game he score wining goal and get 2 assist.

 

Loyalty. 

 

All his short hockey carrier he was played at one club. After 17 birthday he get great contract from Switzerland top league but he didn't accept that, because he sad that he didn't want to go play in somewhere else until he isn't claimed biggest hockey trophy in Latvian.  He will be with new team not only when sun shine bright but also when dark and hard time will arrived.

 

Hard work, big patient. 

 

Nicodemus Raven isn't the best junior player in VHLM yet, but I think he is one of the most hard working player, who analyze every mistake, watch game replays and do all what trainer will sad.  He is the first who arrived in the training and the last who left the arena.  It's only time question when Raven will be better than his draft year players.
