Cologne Express are vying for a playoff position, or so it would seem. The Express have chosen to go with the veteran Ilya Kopralkov in net for the time being. Kopralkov has playoff experience and has guided some teams into the postseason before. Markus King awaits his first start and he anticipates some bumps along the way.

 

"I don't expect to go out and light the world on fire. However, I do want to go out and stop the puck as many times as I can. I think if you go in cocky to a performance you somewhat can take yourself out of the game early if things don't go your way. I'm just going to go out when I'm called upon and see what I can do", said King post-practice.

 

It is unclear when the Express will lean on the rookie, but he says he is ready for the job when they hand him his mask.
