Life’s Journey to Hockey:

One of the first things that pops out to people about Trombone when they first meet him or read his profile is the fact he comes from a non-traditional hockey country in England. That has lots to due to the fact that Trombone was born to parents that both spent the majority of their lives in Canada until a work related move led them to Sheffield. Trombone was born to Bass and Alto Trombone just before the turn of the millennium on September 6th, 1999. Nine years prior to this the Sheffield Steelers were formed, but it wasn’t until the year the Trombone was born that the team became very competitive. Due to the team being competitive in the Ice Hockey League and then Elite Ice Hockey League, Trombone was introduced to hockey as his parents were original season ticket holders of the Steelers. Trombone fell in love with hockey and the Steelers especially, going to almost all the games during his years in Sheffield, idolizing long-time Steelers Captain Jonathan Philips. This is where Trombone picked up the bug to play hockey and watching Philips all those years held mold him into the two-way forward he is today. After playing in the English Ice hockey system for years that ended with a stop with the Sheffield Rapiers of the Boys under Sixteen England Hockey, Trombone moved back to his parents homeland for a more competitive style of hockey.

Junior Years:

Trombone had enough skill to catch the eye of scouts for the Western Hockey League, leading to the Regina Pats taking a flyer of the youngster and drafting him in the Fifth Round, 101st Overall. After two more seasons in England, Trombone crossed the ocean at the age of sixteen and hoped to progress his career in the WHL. Trombone joined a Pats club that was on its last leg of a rebuild, so while the team was young Trombone has tons of guys with WHL experience at his age on the roster. Trombone saw action in sixty-eight games for the Pats in the 2014-2015 season, a season that saw him put up nine goals and twelve assists in those sixty-eight games. While Trombone and the Pats made the playoffs in his rookie season, the team was bounced after five quick games, but those five games were chalked full of valuable experience for Trombone and the boys. The following season Trombone and the Pats were expecting more out of themselves, something Trombone took very serious during the off-season from his rookie season. Trombone only played in sixty-three games in his sophomore season but added two more points in five less games then his rookie season. Trombone also showed a bit more flair with his hands, putting home twelve goals in those sixty-three games. Trombone and the Pats would take the top Wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference and headed to the playoffs for a second straight season. Trombone and the Pats would face-off against the top team in the conference the Lethbridge Hurricanes during the first round, and the underdogs would pull off the five game upset. Trombone and the Pats would eventually get bounced from the playoffs in the next round, but before they did Trombone managed to put up his first playoff points of his career. Trombone and the Pats looked poised to make some noise heading into the next season and Trombone was more than excited for the teams run to the Ed Chynoweth Cup. Trombone and the Pats got off to a great start in the 2016-2017 seasons, finding themselves on the MasterCard CHL Top Ten list right off the bat. Everything was going great until around the trade deadline when Trombone was asked to meet with Pats head coach John Paddock. This is where the world started to turn for Trombone and his hockey career as he found out he was traded to the Spokane Chiefs a team on the opposite end of the winning spectrum than the Pats. Trombone tried his best to be positive throughout the process, but in the long run Trombone decided to leave the Chiefs after a few games and take some time to himself. After taking some time off from hockey Trombone, was introduced to retired VHLer Conner Low who at the time was the General Manager of the Brampton Blades and also a current player agent in the league.

:vhlm:The Next Step Forward; The Victory Hockey League::vhlm:

This is where the next step in Trombones hockey career took over as Trombone gave serious consideration to joining the VHL and then on February 27th of this year. Trombone was elated to find a league to continue his hockey career, especially in a league that was known for producing offensive powerhouses. Trombone entered the VHLM waiver system and was quickly claimed by the Brampton Blades, a team that was looking to compete in Season Fifty-Three. Trombone felt his familiarity with his now agent Conner Low would help ease the learning curve that other first year players have felt in the league. Trombone saw action in twenty-seven games for the Blades in Season Fifty-Three, netting himself four goals and seven assists. Trombone also saw action in all ten games the Blades played in the playoffs in Season Fifty-Three, where he put home two goals and two more assists. While Trombone didn’t have the offensive breakout he would have liked, he did put his toes in the water of the very competitive VHLM and showed he could hold his own with the much more progressed prospects. Now Trombone will enter the VHLM draft and spend one more season looking to show his worth and help a VHLM franchise to the Founders Cup.

:vhl:The Next Eight Years::vhl:

At the conclusion of Season Fifty-Four, Trombone will immediately head to Davos Switzerland as he signed a pro league contract with the HC Davos Dynamo, according to league rules regarding player agent and their players if and when they become General Managers in the league. Trombone will head to a VHL franchise that was once the toast of the league, but has struggled to find their footing as of late. After fifteen consecutive seasons without a championship, Trombone hopes to be a key piece for the next eight seasons that the Dynamo can come to count on.
