Claimed:6 points pls part 22/23/24

Recommended Posts

With the last three teams having only 8 picks between then I figured we can fit them in to one MS and finish off the Season 3 draft. Stockholm has 3 picks, Toronto has 3 picks and Vasteras has 2 but passes on a 3rd pick.

Round 2, Pick 12 (via Hamilton): Left Wing Zach Parise

Career Reg. Season Stats: 613 GP | 169 G | 232 A | 401 P

Career Playoff Stats: 37 GP | 4 G | 15 A | 19 P

Zach Parise made an appearance in VHL for 613 games. He scored 169 goals while assisting 232 goals for 401 points. A nice point total for a 12th overall pick in a draft of 24 players. He never stood out for good reasons but he also never stood out for wrong reasons. He was a very good player for some bad Stockholm teams, but managed to play in 37 playoff games scoring 4 goals and assisting on 15 goals doe 19 points. Parise rode off into the sunset with no Cup wins unfortunately but at least he had a NHL career to fall back on.

Round 2, Pick 16 (via Hamilton, via Calgary): Right Wing Wex Davis

Career Reg. Season Stats: N/A

Career Playoff Stats: N/A

Round 3, Pick 20 (via Hamilton): Defenseman Angus Rose

Career Reg. Season Stats: N/A

Career Playoff Stats: N/A

Picks 16 and 20 yielded no results for Stockholm. As they went 1/3 in this draft.

Round 1, Pick 6: Defenseman Raymond Funk

Career Reg. Season Stats: 505 GP | 95 G | 294 A | 389 P

Career Playoff Stats: 25 GP | 2 G | 11 A | 13 P

Raymond Funk was 1/2 of the Funk brothers that entered the VHL but he wasn't as successful as brother Dust'n who went to Seattle. Raymond played in 505 games, scoring 95 goals and assisting on 294 goals for 389 points. It is a shame he was 5 goals away from 100 in his career and 6 assists away from 300. He never won a championship too, unfortunately but he won some gold medals if I remember correctly. He played in 25 playoff games, scoring 2 goals and assisting on 11 goals for 13 points.

Round 2, Pick 13 (via Stockholm): Defenseman Heman Ho

Career Reg. Season Stats: N/A

Career Playoff Stats: N/A

Round 3, Pick 22: Right Wing DJ Johnson

Career Reg. Season Stats: N/A

Career Playoff Stats: N/A

The Legion whiffed on picks 13 and 22 as these players never made it to the VHL but Heman Ho was the first player who was brought to the VHL's attention from the Scott Anderson Agency.

Round 1, Pick 7: Defenseman Sexy McSexington

Career Reg. Season Stats: 574 GP | 58 G | 270 A | 328 P

Career Playoff Stats: 23 GP | 2 G | 6 A | 8 P

Sexy McSexington will always be one of my favorite names ever in the VHL. After a failed goaltending stint, Sexy moved out to play defense and was drafted 7th overall by Vasteras IK. He played in 574 games, scoring 58 goals and assisting on 270 goals for 328 points in his career. He played in 23 playoff games scoring 2 goals and assisting on 6 goals for 8 points. He won a Continental Cup in Season 7 with the Avangard Havoc. The 2nd different team to win a championship after back to back wins for Calgary and Seattle from S2-S5.

Round 2, Pick 15: Defenseman Maxwell Benjamin

Career Reg. Season Stats: 214 GP | 20 G | 119 A | 139 P

Career Playoff Stats: 13 GP | 0 G | 6 A | 6 P

Maxwell Benjamin was a pretty decent pickup at 15th overall and spent 3 seasons in the VHL. He is one of 2 players in the last 10 picks of this draft to actually play in the VHL so that almost makes me want to label him a hit. However only 3 seasons played and 20 goals, 119 assists for 139 points say he was nothing more than depth. He also played in 13 playoff games picking up 6 assists.

Round 3, Pick 23: Pass

Vasteras passed on the 2nd last pick of the draft.
