Maybe you've always wanted to try out a new player build, or just want to play with new people in the VHL? This update will revolutionize the way we spend our time here in the VHL, all while keeping the same systems we've grown to know and love over the previous 49 seasons. Our little slice of the internet is approaching it's 9th birthday and is heading into it's 50th season. During this time we have always been a strong and tight knit community, a true testament to the passionate we all have for our VHL. This update will open doors and present new opportunities for both our long time and new members. Project Player 2 will introduce the ability for you to create a second player in the VHL. Are you forced to create a second player? No way, it's your choice and you will not be punished or at a disadvantage for continuing to manage one player at a time. This project has been discussed at length over the past two months by the community at large, so most of it should come as no surprise, but here is the official announcement. All the in depth details can be found below, sorted by section. Project Player 2 Details 1 - Eligibility A members two players must be at least three (3) draft classes a part from each other. Example: A member with a S50 draftee will be able to create a S53 draftee but not S51 or S52. 2 - Implementation A lottery will be held to decide which members get to create the first secondary players. A thread will be created for any eligible member to opt into the Player 2 lottery. Each member that opts in will receive a unique number and a random number generator will be live streamed to pick out ten (10) numbers. First wave of secondary players will be allowed to create at the S50 Trade Deadline, meaning they will join the S52 VHL Draft Class. The second draft class of secondary players will follow the same procedure, and so on. 3 - Player Carryover TPE There will be no carryover TPE for all original secondary players. Carryover TPE from each player can be used only one time. In the case that you have two players and retire one without creating a new one and then retire the second player, the user will have the option to use the highest TPE carryover for their next player. 4 - Earning Weekly Capped TPE Weekly Point Tasks/Welfare Claims will be separate for each player. The following combinations for weekly point tasks will be allowed: 2 Point Tasks, 1 Point Task and 1 Welfare Claim, or 1 Welfare Claim. Both players cannot have a Welfare Claim in the same week. Point Tasks and Welfare Claims must include the player name you are claiming it on. Weekly Capped TPE Jobs can be claimed for both players (Exception: Magazine Writers). VHL.com 1 TPE Articles and VHL Radio 2 TPE Podcasts will be claimed separate for each player. 5 - Earning Uncapped TPE Biography and Rookie Profile can be claimed on the one specific player. Player Awards can be claimed on the one specific player. Top GM Awards can be claimed on for both players. Fantasy Zone, Prediction Points can be claimed for both players. Donation Rewards can be claimed for both players. Experience Points can be claimed on the one specific player. 6 - Salary Cap For S52 the VHL salary cap ceiling will rise 2 million dollars from 32 million dollars to 34 million dollars. For S53 the VHL salary cap ceiling will rise 2 million dollars from 34 million dollars to 36 million dollars. 7 - Two Players on the Same Team Draft - A second player can be drafted to the team of the first player but NOT if the user forces other General Managers to pass on them. If a member is found to be manipulating the draft to achieve this, that member will be punished at the discretion of the Commissioners. Free Agency - Under no circumstances can a user choose to sign with one of their players to the team of their other player. Trade - One members player can be traded to the same team as the members other player. No trades which bypass the Free Agency restriction above, such as a sign and trade, will be allowed. All trades made where a member ends up with two players on the same team will be reviewed by the Commissioners and can be vetoed. 8 - General Manager Players At least one of the General Managers players must be on the roster or be a prospect for their team at all times. GM Rule - Only one active player can be acquired through the GM Rule. Therefore a GM cannot trade their first player acquired through the GM Rule, and create a second player and have that player be added to the team via the GM Rule. In order to create a new player under the GM Rule, the active player acquired through the GM Rule must be officially retired. ~VHL Commissioners, Draper & Higgins Special credit to @Molholt, @Victor, and everyone who provided feedback in the suggestion threads. I explain this a little more in my updated rule book which I will post later. But basically every job that isn't a point task replacement (mag writers and simmers) is eligible.
