  1. Threencarnac solid but not spectacular start with new team Edwi Threencarnac has started five games and come off the bench for an extra three so far this season and, going off his statistics, the Dominican goalie hasn’t done bad at all. Coming off a horrendous World Cup that would have left many people questioning Davos’s decision to acquire the player if this actually were real-life and not a dice-rolling simulation, Threencarnac has bounced back with credible starting performances in wins over New York and Stockholm. However, his stats are a bit lower than we have come to expect from Threencarnac and while the GAA rising is not unexpected with the move from a championship contender to a team in the latter end of a rebuilding process, the save percentage is still a bit lower than Threencarnac is used to putting up. Hopefully though, with some good performances down the stretch, Threencarnac will be able to boost his save percentage to a top-tier level. Ky Attribute Report Earlier on in the season, I did a media article comparing Ky’s attributes to the current VHL setup; and now that we’re further into the season, I can post some improvements that Ky has made in attributes in comparison to his VHL counterparts. - Now only Motherfucker Sharpe in the VHL has more points in fighting than Ky, however it should be noted that new VHLM recruit Jabby McFullO’Schmidt is currently ahead of Ky with 70 fighting. - Only Essian Ravenwing has more discipline than Ky, who is currently at 54. - If Ky were to join the VHL right now, he would be the best defenseman at face-offs in the entire league. There is a weird oddity though in that, much like Petenis fighting attribute in the VHL last season, there’s an error in the sim that has a VHLM defenseman with better face-off ability than Ky (Hodor has 60, but he hasn’t added any points to it). - Only Tyson Kohler is a better penalty taker than Ky right now. That means that when Ky ends up in the VHL next season, he will be the undisputed king of the penalty shot (Yet he’s still not one of the Oslo Storm’s five designated penalty takers!) Vegas Needs Heading Towards Trade Deadline Getting closer to the VHL Trade Deadline which will hopefully see quite a few members elect to recreate or make second players, the Las Vegas Aces will be hoping for certain types of player to make themselves available for acquisition. The key position for the Las Vegas Aces is a goalie as they are currently the only team in the top four that doesn’t have a human goalie, however they could also do with the services of a sniper to boost their goal production. 2. While the Season 55 Draft is garnering a fair bit of hype thanks to a good crop of prospects being available for that draft, there’s already a solid amount of promising prospects that have already declared for the Season 56 Draft. Four agents who have represented Hall of Fame personnel in the past are representing players in this draft class (which could rise to five in the event of Aleksi Koponen making the Hall of Fame this season), the most intriguing of these being Aackckqz Ky, represented by Ron Dayne III who helped Edwin Reencarnacion make the Hall of Fame. Ky is without doubt a one-of-a-kind prospect; a player who possesses a very well rounded skillset and a truly unique story and background that has had people compare his marketability to that of Tim Tebow when he first entered the NFL. However, like Tebow, there have been a lot of questions as to how well Ky will do in the VHL, a league which tends to benefit players who specialise in fields rather than those with well-rounded skill-sets. However, Dayne has put it upon himself to null any concerns that GMs may have had regarding the Ukrainian defensemen in a flyer he submitted to all GMs citing how Ky compares with current VHL stars. We gained access to the flyer and here are some extracts from it: “Ky possesses exceptional passing ability, in fact he’s even considered greater in that regard than Rookie of the Year Award contender John Locke” Yep, Ky is a better passer of the puck than John Locke, the third overall selection back in Season 53 and a player that picked up 44 assists in his rookie season. While Dayne is correct that Locke isn’t as good a passer as Ky, he’s kind of skipping over the fact that quite a few of Locke’s assists came from deflected shots, and shooting is something that Locke is vastly superior at doing than Ky. “Ky has the pure strength to make some of the VHL’s most brutal players, like Motherfucker Sharpe, look substantially weaker by comparison” Believe it or not, the guy who makes a living through trying to beat people up isn’t even a match for Ky strength-wise. Granted, just because you start a lot of fights doesn’t make you a strong individual, but it goes without saying that Sharpe will probably think twice about going toe-to-toe with Ky. “His versatility is unparalleled” Now this one isn’t a fact based on technicalities as Ky’s skill set is to the point where he’ll be able to play any position on the ice, the fact that work in his favour in that regard is that he is better than any other VHL defenseman in face-offs and penalty shots. “A lot of focus for teams nowadays is finding a prospect that has the potential to lead their team to glory not just with their skill as a hockey player, but also with their ability to motivate a team when they need it the most. Regarding the latter, Ky has the motivational ability of some of the VHL’s finest leaders” Dayne’s right here in that Ky possesses leadership abilities that the VHL’s greatest leaders themselves did not possess. In fact, Ky’s leadership attribute of 48 is better than that of four-time Grimm Johnson winner Zach Parechkin! “Remarkably disciplined, Ky has the presence of mind to restrain himself from committing silly penalties that would land him in hot water and put the team under unnecessary duress” There’s been quite a few players who managed to win the Mirkka Virkunnen trophy without adding a single point to discipline, so with Ky already being at 50 discipline (surprisingly not the highest for a VHL defenseman as Izidors Balders has 51), this is perhaps an award that Ky will get a shot at. Now let’s just hope that fighting slider doesn’t go out of control again, eh? *For Threencarnac*
  3. There are some things that we do know about Aackckqz Ky. We know he's entering the Season 56 VHL Draft as a defenseman, he's currently on the Oslo Storm and that he's a very good penalty shot taker. But to this point, we knew very little about Aackckqz Ky as a person, so here's some Ky facts for you. Aackckqz Ky's middle name is Yry.(Which I guess would be pronounced like "Yuri", but if you were in a rush to say it.) He owns a pet bat. His favourite movies are Fury (starring Brad Pitt) and Contraband (starring @Devise favourite actor Mark Wahlberg). His favourite video game is Army of Two. The person he most wants to meet is Scarlett Johansson Has an obsession with Soy Sauce packets. Hates shirts. Favourite word is "offend" His favourite sport is Skiing The current VHL player that Ky admires the most is HC Davos Dynamo defenseman Pablo *For Threencarnac*
  4. When I created Aackckqz Ky, one of the questions I had for myself was how many VHL teams would be interested in a player whose attributes, player store purchases and loyalty to the franchise are all determined by random luck? Well, if the hours following my creation were anything to go by and if I didn't know any better, the answer would be looking like no interest whatsoever. Over four days have passed now and I've yet to receive an offer from any VHLM teams. Luckily there have been other players who have cited a similar issue with a lack of offers (Molholt wasn't claimed off waivers until three days after his creation and fellow second player Mr. Shakedown has also yet to receive an offer from a VHLM team), so at least it doesn't seem like GM's aren't offering up for "Mr. Roll The Fuckin' Dice" because of his build. That being said though, it is surprising that both myself and @Jericho haven't received a single offer for our players. I can understand the lack of offers from both Ottawa and Las Vegas, as they both have a shit ton of defensemen, but the remaining three teams don't yet have two full lines of defensemen, so there are positional vacancies out there to be filled. *For Threencarnac
  5. Full Name: Aackckqz Ky Nickname: "Mr. Roll The Fuckin' Dice" Age: 32 Position: Defenseman Height: 5'11 Weight: 204 lbs Nationality: Ukrainian After somehow recording successful stints as a diver in Dominica and as a counselor in Bolivia, the thirty-two year old Ky made his next career choice the only way that he knew how; picking it at random. That next career he's planned? Professional hockey player in the VHL. Seeking the aid of Ron Dayne III, a former running back in the MFA/USFL and another man who randomly found his way into the VHL, Ky is hoping to become a top prospect for the Season 56 draft, but the road ahead is a very long one for a man with no real hockey experience. Pros Unpredictability - There are some players in hockey who are able to come with something out of nothing that you never would have expected and just make you go "wow". While Ky is more likely to make you go "what?" rather than "wow", his unpredictability has led to some surprisingly successful moments. In the VHLM tryouts and faced with no real option outside of a long-range slap-shot, Ky instead decided to detail his opposition on the benefits of taking out a timeshare agreement for a condo in Puerto Rico, which ultimately left his opponents distracted enough for one of Ky's team-mates to take the puck off his hands and score. He also has a very unique skill-set for a defenseman, as he's actually a technically solid player in the face-off, although whether he'd ever be used there in either the VHL or VHLM is another question. Leadership - Despite his lack of natural hockey talent, scouts came out of the VHLM tryout raving about Ky's raw leadership capabilities, saying that he rivals some of the top current VHL talent in that department. Whether he ever becomes good enough with the puck to warrant a captaincy job is a big question right now, but if he does, he's expected to be a very inspirational captain. Penalty Shot - The modern VHL doesn't have many great Penalty Shot takers at the minute, but if there was one thing that scouts were amazed at after the VHLM tryout, it was how composed he looked taking penalty shots as he didn't miss a single one. Scouts are putting this unexpected proficiency with the puck down to being able to do more without the threat of being hit by an opponent and they're also comparing him extremely favourably with VHL counterparts. One scout wrote "Right now, I'd say the only player in the VHL better than this kid at taking penalty shots is (Tyson) Kohler, he's that good." Cons Technical Proficiency - While Ky looks like he's going to thrive in situations where there are no threats of him being hit or having to make a decision, it looks like he's going to struggle with the puck in open play. His passing has been described as "erratic at best", he struggles to keep the puck under his control when having to make tighter turns on the ice and can't get a shot on target in open play to save his life. When it comes to developing these parts of his game, he really is starting at square one. Loyalty - Having had over 10 jobs in 9 different countries prior to becoming a professional hockey player, it's fair to say that Ky is not one to stick around at any one place for long. While shouldn't be a big deal heading into the VHLM Draft, this will be a big red flag heading into the VHL Draft where many teams will be looking for a long-term solution to their problems and won't be looking for players who are done after a year of service. Training Levels - There's some doubts about how committed Ky is to becoming as good a player as he can be. During the three day VHLM tryout, Ky was not present at all on the second day of training which was supposed to give scouts an evaluation on his physical levels (a big cause of concern for a 32 year old rookie). When asked why he didn't attend, Ky simply said "I didn't turn up that day because that was the decision I made; it was either I turn up or I don't turn up and I decided on the latter".
