  1. This article will serve as a friendly reminder/my final post on the boards for awhile. For 40 years as a white male, well i had my obsticles i never faced discrimination like many of my fellow humans. I have for all purposes had white privlage well i may not know it. I can say i haven never been attacked or denied an opportunity for being me. However, as a proud russian living happily in Canada i can say this no more. For the last 20 years i have lived in Canada, learned english. Started a family, built a company, and made a good life for myself. Now each day because of a war i did not start, nor condone. I am the victim of profiling. Over the last week thanks to a wave of everything anti russia. My house/car windows have been smashed in. Ive had to repaint my garage door. I have been spit at and my life threatened. All because the media has created an illusion we are all bad people. This happening to me has brought me shame for ever having profiled someone before. Well i try not too, i have unconsciously done this, and seeing the power media has over public opinion has me shamed, that i fell for it too. So this is a friendly reminder for everyone before i have to step away. Be kind to everyone, dont judge someone based on looks/background/religion/skin colour. Like Leafs fans(just some light humor here) a majority of these people are just like you and me. They want to be happy and live their lives. We arent criminals/warmongers. I can speak for many when i say MANY Russians do not agree with this war. They like you are ashamed of their leader and what he is doing. Be kind we are all human. Thank you, Best of luck
  2. So first off everyone sorry for the long time between to make my choice. My goal was to scout teams, and also to give everyone a fair chance to make their respective pitches. Given i will be reentering the draft my ice time is less a concern for me right now. As the team i join is only a rental style. So upon looking over the rosters, debating who gives me the best chance to win a title which im aiming for in my rental season. I have decided to join Philadelphia.
  3. Nevermind guess im at the cutoff i get to have a bidding war.

  4. In a fun twist, an agent of the revered Komarov agency. The agency has taken in their first serious client outside of Russia. In come King Tut, a massive monster. Like all the Komarovs before him, he knows one thing an one thing only. Crushing bones, the man can hit, he can skate, and plays well in his own zone. He is not a shy man child. He looks to make a name for himself, in the VHL. Its rare to see an Egyptian player, let alone a player leave the Gooningitup agency. In a fun twist of events based on current draft board not listing his client. He is looking like he will be a high profile free agent. As his agency is likely to fly under the radar. Given the agency's decision to step away from the league. It will be interesting to see where he ends up landing. It will be a fun thing to watch his career an see if flying under the radar is a good thing for this once renown agency.

  6. What else is new im done with this league always the same few people with "sim" magic
  7. The league announced recently it would be adding a new league, basically its own version of the American Hockey League. This league would be centered around european nations. They asked us to think about names and locations for teams. Well i may not have the coolest name, Berlin Germany should certainly be a location to consider. The rising in the countries development of star NHL players, men like Draisital, Seider, Peterka, Riechal, Grubauer, and Stuzle. It would be foolish not to attempt to draw more German players to the VHL. Having a team located in the heart of Germany, would be a huge boost especially after the VHL left Germany awhile back, just before the boom of German hockey. The Wall as they will be called, pays homage to the history of the city. Once surrounded by the strong walls, the Berlin team would hope to put up the wall against opponents. The city is a perfect location, and due to its boom in German products, would mean that unlike Colonge this franchise should stand the test of time. The Berlin team would host hockey out of the Germany hockey teams arena the Mercedes benz arena. This arena has history, and has seen many titles won inside of it. They hope 2 teams can make it even more titles, keeping the great momentum going, more parties the better. A rabbid growing fan base, hungry for even more hockey. The teams logo, would of course be a small picture, of a wall sporting goalie equipment. Well this logo may seem very silly, the team hopes a silly mascot will draw in more young kids, in hopes they can continue to grow the game of hockey in Germany. The country is hungry to grow into a hockey power, a major north american league making the jump back to German may very well be the kicker they need to grow the game their even more. The teams jersey, will be very simple but clean, think the Detroit Red Wings, except with Orange, and Black. On the shoulders they would proudly fly the German flag. Its unclear this time if the league will be like many other european league, with sponsorship all over the Jersey, but its very simplistic style leaves lots of real estate for the team to put all kinds of sponsor on it if the league choose to go that way. Germany is a proud nation, and one that well it has a checkered past, is ready to put itself center stage in the world of hockey. The VHLE should one hundred percent, make sure they bring a team to this beautiful country. Let's help bring this country back into the international spotlight when it comes to hockey. Only time will tell just what teams come to this league, what kind of players will make their careers legendary here. However, Berlin hopes to be one of those cities chosen and to bring many legends into the VHL lore books for the ages.
  8. Honestly cant say i have heard of this sport till now, which makes this a very cool article lots of color. And some cool new teams and concepts. Obviously put alot of work into this and deserve the TPE. 10/10
  9. Solid look at a clearly struggling team that has a road ahead of itself before it can really be a serious contender. However hopefully you guys can eventually turn things around and grow together. Id like to see abit more flair an pictures but overall a solid job done 8/10
  10. Nothing really, i have not been very good this season sadly Honestly as im done after Askarov my opinion is not really important. The Russian Cup of course haha Skating i suppose as im a goalie so neither is very big for me Showed our average age for sure, its clear we are inconsistent an struggling.
  11. Goalie of the year or bust boys. No idea whoever we drafted i guess haha. Vodka cuz why not im russian. Just train hockey is life, all my focus on life is hockey. I carried this team to the cup, all bow to mother russia Wins, wins and more wins
  12. Great look back, on your career it always feels like it just goes by so fast. Overall seems like you had a very good career and something you should be proud of even it maybe was not as great as you hoped. Could use some pictures, and maybe abit more color but a good article 8/10
  13. Honestly, as someone who never played for Bushito. This is a cool look into abit of the window that was his tenure as GM. Well i have no doubt he was a good guy it always shocked me how long he maintained being a general manager. That being said this article checks all the boxes i look for pictures, and titles. Easy to read. 10/10
  14. Russia is home of the KHL, a league that desperately tries to compete with the NHL. The VHL is a league all over the world, but what if the KHL decided to buy the VHL European division and bring it all into the mother land Introducing First thing first Moscow Menace In no shock they are not going to fold the VHL Russian team and just replace them with a new name that would be silly. The Menace have been a huge success in Russia and is a big reason why the Russians decided to buy half of the VHL. HC Davos becomes the Saint Petersburg, Horsemen Based on the iconic Bronze Horseman statue in Saint Petersburg. The Horsemen comes in with a terrifying message to all the league. Well the Horseman stands, they will never lose. Lots of people will compare them to the Wranglers of the North American division but dont be fooled if you know the story of the Bronze Horseman. Riga Reign become the Vladivostok Railmen The Railmen are a hard working bunch, and a big part of Vladivostok entire history. Well Riga is fairly close to Russia they decided it is better to bring the team fully in their borders. The Reign are a highly successful franchise, never breaking down long much like the rail ways in mother russia. Helsinki Titans become the Omsk Freeze The Omsk Freeze come from Siberia where the days can be long and cold. Yet the people of this fine city never bend or break. Pushing through the cold and freezing temperatures every year. They are a tough people, an they want their team to be just as tough as they are. The London United become the Veliky Novgorod Huntsmen Probably the least known city on this list for anyone not familiar with Russia. This used to be the main port of our homeland, and a major city still to this day. This city takes pride in is trades, and like much of Russia its work ethic. The Huntsmen hope to honor that hard working tradition. The Warsaw Predators become the Kazan Kremlin The Kremlin in Moscow is a place of mystery. However before the Kremlin in Moscow stood this fortified fortress, that housed many secrets and was thought to be impenetrable. Now its more a tourist site showing off old Russia. However it is still a menacing solid building, and represents just how string the Kazan team will be. The Malmo Nighthawks become the Yekaterinburg Executioners. Long ago Russia had Kings an queens, well in this town that ended at the hand of the rising communist party. Killing the royal family with swift planning. The hockey team themselves, and looking to bring solid plans and team work to help bring the league to its knees. Prague Phantoms become the Samara Savoirs The city that is home to Stalins WW2 bunker. A city who views itself as saviors of Russia during that time. Samaras hockey team is aiming to be the team that saves Russian hockey. Much like they did in world war 2. I know the team names are not overly original. Most are just tied to the cities history, however im not an overly creative person. Figured be a fun look at some Russian history.
