  1. As you may have noticed the league has been feeling a little neglected lately by the commissioners. A group of members from the BOG have stepped up and been posting items and schedules for the VHL 10th Anniversary. We felt it was necessary to add a new person to the commissioner job as he are heading into the off-season tonight. Last off-season was a little rough around the edges, so you should expect a better off-season this time around. This is the official announcement that Smarch has been added to the VHL commissioner group. I think you are all very familiar with this member and know he has a lot of respect around the league as a long time member and will be able to easily transition to a commissioner role. In other news; Off-season starts tonight after Game 7 - Quebec City vs. Helsinki. I'll sim a maximum of 4 VHLM Finals Games tonight. If needed Game 7 will be tomorrow. Draft lottery will be live tomorrow on Sunday evening. A massive forum update will be coming very soon, should provide some cool new features.

  10. FML my dump-in on the PK leads to the series winner. GG Wild, you deserved it, after what happened last year and your success this year. Didn't really expect to get swept, but it was much closer than the 4-0 showed. Great team you built @Corco, and look forward to taking our battles to the big leagues @MD9 @Eggy216 @CowboyinAmerica @boubabi

  11. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Holy shit, I apparently really did update the Clutch rating. Was not expecting a sweep at all, but well done Saskatoon! Feels awesome to have this one under my belt, first VHLM title for me in 20+ seasons.

  12. Hopefully they don't move to clubs. I don't mind them but I prefer the regular LR format and it can still be done in the new update.

  13. Wild on the front foot Despite a very poor regular season which saw them finish in second last in the league the Las Vegas Aces knew they had a chance to whipe the slate clean in the playoffs and that's exactly what they have done so far. Led by veterans like Rudy Ying, Slava Aleksei ,Rask Rowe and surprise youngster Mike Szatkowski III the Aces are now in to the finals after upsetting league powerhouse Oslo in the semi finals. Not many gave them a chance but despite a controversial finish the Aces have downed the Storm after a close 7th game in the Norwegian capital. They are currently down two games to zero in the league final against Saskatoon but no one is counting out the defending champions. It was a minor miracle to just make it this far, but to the Aces it isn't enough. They want to win their second league title in as many seasons and know they are just one win away from getting back in to the series. The key will, as always, be the play of netminder Shawn Brodeur who has struggled heavily many times this year while also looking like a star in some games. It seems unlikely the young goalie will find his consistency just yet, but if the team can get a Marty Brodeur type performance out of Shawn they might just be looking at an even series heading back to the West of Canada. A bit of hope for the Aces is that they knew the second game was there for the taking heading in to the third where midway through that period they ran in to some serious penalty troubles, giving up two power play goals to put the game to bed. Brodeur played as well as you could hope with a .853 save percentage to keep the Aces in the game against the powerhouse Wild. Despite this he knows he will have to be better in the upcoming game if the Aces are to make it a closer series. The Aces so far are 6 wins and 6 losses in the playoffs but seeing as they were expected to be eliminated quicly the team, and their fans, will take a .500 record. Now the goal is to win that last game of the year. For the Wild, it appears to be smooth sailing so far in the final round. Perhaps their toughest test was the semi finals when they dispatched their opponents Ottawa in six games. They aren't looking too far ahead though and know they are 2 60 minute games away from ultimate glory. The first period of the first game seemed to have been the Wild sending a message that it wasn't going to go the Aces way and that their Cinderella run may have been over. Scoring 7 goals on 13 first period shots seemed to have set the tone for the entire series with the Wild seemingly the first on every loose puck. It will take a minor miracle now for the Aces to climb back in to the series, but it could be just their luck.

  15. So we've tangled and fucked with the top 3 forwards, defence, goalies and badasses of the S55 season. As everyone knows, it can at times be a struggle to write on this site but with this saga of Top 3's, I've found it enjoyable to write as I reconnect with the league, it's players and can check on how everyones doing. In this episode, we're going to take a look at the 3 best forwards in this seasons playoffs with as much truthfulness and least amount of biased opinion possible. Who are the Top 3 forwards of this seasons playoffs as she dwindles down to the last game or two? Who has helped pushed their team to the glory land, or helped them make it as far as they did - whether it be for goals, assists, clutch games or other big plays. Shall we take a look? 3. Essian Ravenwing - NYA Really, win or loss, Essian played a huge part to New York's strong performance throughout the entire season leading up to their loss against the Quebec Meute in playoffs. In playoffs though, he really stepped it up for the team and tried to give them one more push into the finals before possible GM changes come about and potentially turn the route of the team and where they'll be heading. With 6 goals, 7 assists and 13 points through his 10 playoff games, his goal and points totals are still good enough to have him placed in second for both of those. Aside from those 3 big stats, he averaged 3.5 hits a game, over 31 minutes on ice each game and had 2 game winners for his boys. A mentionable stat was that he also finished with above 60% on the face-off circle. So, with a mixture of clutch, top performance and being one hell of a player, he finds himself 3rd on this weeks Forwards edition list. 2. Black Velvet - HSK It's his final season in the Victory Hockey League and during which, he decided that he was going to test the waters as a forward rather than his usual defensive positioning. Seemingly, it's turned out pretty successful for the old-timer as he's rolling through the playoffs and has helped largely carry the load on his back and eased the load for the Titans this year. Though their back is up against the wall, the pushed back last game to bring about a Game 7. For Velvet, he has double 6's for 12 points through 11 playoff games. His physical nature as a dman has carried over as he has 45 hits, all while naturally filling in the role of centre with an above 62% rate in that field. Topping that off with a similar clutch performance to Ravenwing, he has 3 game winners and if prevailing in Game 7, could be the reason the Titans went so far. 1. John Locke - QUE Usually on a list such as this, you start at 3 and make your way downward, however, this one was an easy player to throw into the number 1 spot so he was the first one we marked down. Locke has strongly commanded the playoffs this season, having a 4 goal lead on 2nd place in that race and a 2 point lead over a player who is no longer playing in the playoffs for points. With 3 clutch game winners and logging in over 33 minutes a game, this guy has held an incredible amount of pressure on his back and has so far carried it extremely well. John Locke is easily the best player on the ice for Quebec at this time and win or loss, may end up being the top player. 6 for Federov

  18. SUMMARY I may or may not sim this live after my screen capture thing finishes updating, depending on how well it works. Which judging my how long it's taking to download a 113.56 MB file, I'm not super optimistic it will work at all. That being said, live or not, you can expect Game 7 in 20ish minutes. EDIT: WATCH IT HERE NOW LIVE, I THINK WE'RE LIVE?? https://www.twitch.tv/jardyb10

  19. Wow congrats to the Titans! Well deserved. Crazy going out just like Velvet came into the league with a championship, with a few in between. It was a quick 8 seasons with Black Velvet but the ending is perfect. Thank you.

  27. I'm assuming this is the same update that EFL and SBA just had? It's pretty nice. Although, it's going to take some getting used to for the new way the LRs are done. Although, it's not a huge issue.

  41. My favorite VHL moment was Calgary's cup run in S44. My favorite moment might not have actually been winning the cup, but when we just absolutely smacked down Quebec after a season of trash talking from Kesler and Da Trifecta (I would tag them but I have no idea what their current usernames are, someone please tag them). It only took us five games to beat Quebec, who most expected to win, and just take a look at this glorious thread. We beat them 6-0 in the final game and thoroughly outshot them. We had @CowboyinAmerica with WinGod and the rivalry with DT's goalie who I think wound up retiring lol We had @Ball back when he was active, miss him We had @Cuffy, the long time Wrangler loyalist We had @Jala, who is one of my favorite members for making @boubabi very upset We had @philthethrill81, who gave us a great depth player in Rami Jacobbssen We had @Caillean when she was actually active with Jaime Hill We had @Munk in our locker room for some reason Also Ithink we had @mpclardy too :3 That was such a fun year. Probably the most active team I've been on, dominated Quebec after all that trash talking, and got my first and only cup as GM
