  2. Davos Back To The Playoffs The HC Davos Dynamo are back to the VHL playoffs for the first time since Season Fifty-Two. After a three year hiatus from the post-season, it’s a small victory for the Swiss based hockey club, but something they aren’t taking for granted. Although the Dynamo have the third spot locked up in the European Conference with no chance of climbing or falling, who they will play in the first round of the playoffs is still being determined. The Dynamo are going to be lead into the Season Fifty-Five VHL playoffs by duo of Shawn Gretzky and Rusty Trombone who are tied for the team lead in points with seventy a piece in sixty-two games this season. After putting up sixty points in his rookie season Gretzky put in a great deal of work during the off-season to ensure that he did fall victim to the sophomore slumber. With a lot of work ahead of them to ensure the rebuild come full cycle, the playoffs will be a good test for the young club and show them what it really takes to win in the league. *For Trombone*

  5. Since we don’t have the ability to block sigs anymore it seems (could we get that back @Will @Higgins) it drives me crazy any time I use the site on anything but mobile because every time I see @The Trollfecta’s sig I need to scroll like mad to get past it. Seriously, do you really need 3 full size signatures for your current player, 2 for past players and 2 extra lines? is that at all necessary? They’re decent enough sigs but at a 1080 resolution I literally cannot even have all of them on my screen at once. Just think about that. At a normal resolution your signatures take more than the entire screen; sure I have the top bar of safari and my dock contributing to that as well but still. Not your post, just your signatures. By my rough calculations your signature takes up over 1000px of space, for comparison mine is around 415px. There really should be some kind of limit on this. /rant

  6. If your looking to draft a defensemen. Then this is the draft for you, 6 out of the top 10 prospects are defense. All look to be solid options, the best of the lot Ay Ay Ron. He looks like he has the makings of a franchise defender. One that every team covets, which is exactly why he could be the second overall pick. Its rare to get one franchise Dman in a draft let alone too, Aackckqz Ky looks like he may very well be another which just makes him a valueble asset on his own. He will be fighting for 2nd overall. The first overall pick is a run away, a franchise winger, one of two in the top 10 and likely the only winger worth drafting high. He is the concensus first overall pick. This is where the draft starts to open up. The next best prospect has started to raise some questions about his commitment. However still remains a very solid choice, and likely a top 4 defender for many years to come. His name is Ho Lee Fook. He was once part of the elite group, however has slowed down as of late and could see his name fall abit as teams may look to pick up another more commited. The next guy another defender knowm as AJC, is the man who could usurp Ho Lee Fook, as they may feel he could grow faster and be the better defender in the long haul. Another solid defender who will be a solid top 4 option for many years. He has not exactly lit the league on fire, but remains a solid draft pick for the team he is drafted by. Another defender yep thats right, 1 outta 6 are something other than defensemen. Matthieu Bourdon has been a streaky player in his draft class, sometimes seen working like an elite prospect, others like a future bust. It likely will weight on the GMs minds however he has all the tools of a top 4 defender in the VHL. We finally have a center one of 2 in the top 10, much like Gabriel he is the only one likely in his position worth the draft pick. Sergei Komarov has been argueably the quickest gainer, and has certianly risen the most since being drafted. It still remains to be seem if he can translate to a number 1 center, or if he will plateau as a number 2 center. For a team that could very well use a center he could see his name called early due to lack of potential at this position. The last pick likely to make an impact coming in at number 8. A defender whose work ethic has been streaky much like Bourdon. Emil Martinov, is a player who just cant seem to pull away from the pack. In such a deep draft o Its hard to say where he will land. A team may covet a prospect who declared later. Due to positional needs, however if a team is just out for BPA, they could land a good top 4 defender. VHLM forever could have a solid future as a top 6 winger ahead of him, however he has already stated he wants to stay in juniors. A team will draft him, but it could be a waste of a pick if he can not be convinced to join the VHL. Spicey is going to fall the center just has not shown any work ethic, so many better players declaring late have put it more work. Likely be passed soon by Brienne O'Tarth and other on the depth chart.

  7. 2nd Overall??? Since I most likely won't be owning a lottery pick in this draft since I traded my 1st away, I don't feel bad giving away my thoughts on this top secret information. Before we begin, what is with everyone making a defenseman lately? I feel like many of the top and lottery picks lately have been defensemen, and the high about of quality defensemen plus pretty much every team having a franchise goalie means league scoring is going to be pretty low for a while. I am actually fine with that as I enjoy some quality defensive play, but it is something interesting to look at in the future. Maybe later when I'm not lazy I will write an article and see if there are more defensemen being made recently. Now back to the salmon. I think the entire world would be shocked if @CowboyinAmerica wasn't selected 1st overall. He has by far the most tpe in the draft class, has a great history with his past players, and has always been a great teammate to have around. Because of this, he won't be considered for 2nd overall. According to @Kendrick's wonderful VHLSC rankings the top 2-7 tpe earners of the draft class are all defensemen. Of this group, I think that three have a legitimate chance for 2nd overall in @boubabi, @YEAH!stlemania, and @Will. All three are VHL veterans who have made great players in the past and can be pretty trusted to stick around and not go inactive (though who knows with Will as of late). So here are my thoughts on each player and their odds of being selected 2nd overall. Ay Ay Ron Definitely one of the top five names in VHL history, so that alone gives him good odds of being selected at 2nd overall. Character wise, Boubabi is probably the most controversial of the three names, as he does ruffle some feathers from time to time. Overall, I still think he would be a good locker room presence, and he makes some great graphics! He has the most tpe earned so far of the group, but he is French so . I give him the best odds for 2nd overall. AACKCKQZ KY Probably one of the worst names for a VHL player, how is anyone ever going to remember how to spell that? Decent troll I guess so I give YEAH some credit for that. I'll just call him sneeze. Mr. Sneeze is only 16 tpe behind Boubabi, so if any GM has more faith in YEAH than Boubabi they are close enough in tpe that it could make sense. I give him second best odds for 2nd overall. Ho Lee Fook If Draper was his ordinary active self, he would probably be my front runner for 2nd overall. Instead, everyone is yelling "Ho Lee Fook" at Draper because he hasn't been very active lately. This would make him a big risk to take at pick 2, but the it could ultimately be worth it if he ever comes back to form. Draper come back I miss chatting you

  8. But we will have zero chance of doing anything in the playoffs remember? Well, that's according to the one of the VHL's leading contributors so I wouldn't get your hopes up Davos fans.

  11. It seems a Komarov may return to Davos after all. Though its far from certian. However the rising star, who has shot up the draft boards seems to be falling right into the area Davos drafts. Rumors also state their is a mutal interest in bringing back Davos Royal Family the Komarovs. The thing that could prevent this comes in 2 forms. First off the top of the draftboard is defense heavy. 4-8 are all close in development, which could lead a team to selecting the hulking center if they are deep on defense. However if the VHLM draft shows any questions its that teams covet defensemen even if they cant seem to keep pace. The second is Davos could look to move this pick. In a trade that could improve their chances at a deep run next season. Well it may be unlikely as their future stars are just about ready, likely needing one more season before they are a true threat, it might be a move they consider.

  16. For some ridiculous reason, Trifecta and Bushito were pissy over the Dynamo calling up Peter Quill from the Oslo Storm. Trifecta claimed that Smarch was contributing to the death of the VHLM with this move, and Bushito commented that players should have to play the entire season in the VHLM to get the achievement tracker bonus. Bushito also said that this appeared to be a move made to spite Oslo, but then later mentioned that Smarch told him two hours after drafting him that he was going to be calling him up. It was a move that Davos had planned from the very beginning of the season. Bushito knew it was going to happen. Truthfully, Bushito's part in the thread was not nearly as bad as Trifecta's. Trifecta's claim that this move is fucking over the VHLM is ridiculous. I would have to say that if this type of move is something that will negatively affect the VHLM, then there is a much bigger problem with the VHLM. Here's the thing: the VHLM is a developmental league. Truthfully, I think this is the kind of thing that should be happening more often. It certainly shouldn't be discouraged by completely taking away the bonus eligibility for a player who doesn't play the whole season down there. Players aren't in the VHLM to help a team win. If you want to say that a team is screwed over when a team calls up a player, I guess fine, it does certainly hurt the team. But should anyone care? No. The VHLM is a league for the players, not the teams. for mist4ke

  20. Are you seriously suggesting this is a "veteran members" issue? Is that the angle? So veteran members choose not to care about the VHLM by leaving it, you know to worry about their own players careers in this create a player league, like Kendrick mentioned. But then it's our fault when the VHLM can't maintain interest or activity? Last I checked each team has GM's who are supposed to be doing that. Veteran members contribute tons to recruitment and the league in general. It's not on @Green to determine whether or not it would be in Oslo's or the VHLM's best interest if he decides to go to the VHL after being drafted and having the TPE to be called up legitimately. He has contributed tons of players to this league and having him around at all is a bonus to us. We wouldn't expect the same out of any new member if they stick out to become a veteran either. Contribute what you can. There shouldn't be some "social license" priority to try and keep the loose ass rules of the VHLM together so that we somehow make a community out of it. If the VHLM isn't attracting interest on it's own merit, then it doesn't have any fucking merit. Simple as that. The rules and structure of the league should support high interest levels and activity among competing teams. It's hard enough keeping this place active and involved with the amount of committed members we have already, much less worrying about trying to make sure every veteran member on every VHLM club is somehow doing what is in the best interest of the "development" league. Just more to add to the fire imo of why the VHLM needs to go. Too many members are stepping down/calling it and we don't have the bodies to try to maintain two healthy leagues. VHLM has been unhealthy even in the best of times, at a certain point we are detriment the entire league by letting this shambles continue. Look at this season as perfect evidence. We've missed days of sims in the VHL because of some issues with both Jardy and our back up simmer Will being away. Yet Higgins never missed a bit. If things were one, Higgins never missing a beat would of meant the sim never missed a beat. It is beyond silly with where the league is to be dividing manpower across the board between the two leagues.

  22. 1. Federov growing tired of waiting Aleksei Federov, of the Seattle Bears, only has 27 points through 52 games played this season. Coming into the league and heading to the Seattle Bears, he knew it was going to be difficult to fully take off due to the teams current position and rebuilding phase but he never expected it to be quite like this. Last year was a strong struggle and this year doesn't seem to be a whole lot different. Being a player from Banackock's agency, he's actually on pace to potentially be the bets player coming out of said agency, but hasn't put up any sort of statistic to actually prove this statement as being true. Now sitting at 400 TPE, the young defender is about to enter his final season in his "rookie phase" of his career and will next move onto his prime. It's time to get the blue-line gem going or his career won't be as great as he had hoped. With Seattle bringing up some youth next season, time will tell to see if it's enough. 2. Seattle and What's going on, man? Seattle is and was and pretty much has always been in a tricky section. For a while, things seemed great. Rebuild was done and the team was rolling. We attracted the odd FA and contended each season. Always came close, but never close enough. We fell, we were surrounded by silly nonsense created by the fake news people of thy league and it really hit the team hard. With some frustrating and crazy retirements, it really but the last bullet into the Bear. Podarok fucks the team over, leaves the league and moves on - hanging up the skates and popping the last cap into the Bears. Now, the Bears are into a hard rebuild and things seem to be going okay. @Laflamme seemed to turn out to be a huge steal but I always sort of believed he would be one - which is why I took him. No knocks to the other guys, but he's been the GO TO guy so far for us. @NUCK kicks around and updates - so that makes me happy. He may not be a TPE whore, but as long as he kicks around, updates and contributes the odd time - I'm a happy GM. I go a few years back with Nuck and have always enjoyed any sort of interaction. @Wikiplaysgames is a great guy and I know he's got potential. He was drafted low - if not mistaken, was a BPA pick. He turned out to be active and chats weekly with us in the LR or via PM. Just started a new job, but should be slowing down soon. I don't expect him to be a 800 TPE star, but a good, loyal depth player is what I would like if so. 3. GM Blake Campbell + Agency, it's a struggle to maintain. When it comes to this position, I'm a try hard. This season is an exception as it's tough to do lines or the whole ten yards when your team is garbage. However, I've been heavy in the trade talks and looking at options and actually started some scouting prior to the season starting. The issue being is that I don't think I've fully enjoyed a PLAYER career since my first player - Blake Campbell (goalie). Even then, it got cut short due to the large amounts of goalies in the league. Blake Campbell - Pretty much forced into retirement due to too many goalies. Sven Wolf (Goalie) - Retired at around 180-210 TPE as Seattle needed a Centre. Sven Wolf (Center) - Retired due to GM trade rules - Seattle was rebuilding. Mattias Forsberg (Centre - active) - SEA needs a center - sometimes hard to come by. Currently around 200 the. Aleksei Federov (Defense - Active) - Defense are important and I knew he'd be good. Now my problem with Federov is that he's a great young man. On any competing or half decent team, he'd likely be wrecking the league, but here he sits with 400 the and only 27 points through 52 games. Another career likely could be going down the drain because of the GM role. Don't get me wrong, no regrets with the GM role. Have enjoyed it 110% the entire time and have no intentions of stepping down. I so badly want a cup here in Seattle and love the quality of guys we generally have in the LR. Just tough sacrificing your player and enjoyment with it due to the GMing role. PEACE. 6 TPE for Forsberg
